Hi, I’m Luiza, a Brazilian-American living in Copenhagen, in a home usually filled with canvases, paint and the occasional furniture project.

I’ve loved painting for as long as I can remember, but for many years it was simply something I did because I enjoyed it. At 34, I finally decided to take the plunge and turn that part of myself into a business. Today, Youxu Studio is first and foremost a place for creating hand-painted, personalised art.

I have a degree in Interior Architecture & Design, and that background still shapes the way I work. I’m drawn to composition, colour, proportion and texture, and my paintings are often inspired by real people, places, hobbies and memories.

Sustainability has also always found its way into my life (whether at work or at home). From time to time, I restore and reimagine vintage furniture, giving well-made pieces a new life rather than seeing them go to waste.

At the heart of Youxu Studio is something simple: creating pieces that feel personal. Whether it’s a place you love, a sport you enjoy, a memory, a person or an idea that means something to you, I turn those stories into something made by hand that you can keep.
